Sunway Law Participates in Pakistan B2B Business Roundtable, Showcasing Integrated Service Capabilities and Exploring Overseas New Energy Mobility Cooperation

On April 14, 2026, Shanghai Sunway Law Firm was invited to attend the Pakistan B2B Business Roundtable, hosted by the Embassy of Pakistan in China and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Shanghai.

With a strong focus on information and communication technology (ICT) and the digital economy, the roundtable brought together representatives from enterprises and relevant stakeholders across sectors including agriculture, new energy, healthcare, and automotive and two-wheeler industries, to exchange views on cooperation opportunities between China and Pakistan.

During the roundtable, the Ambassador of Pakistan to China and the Counsel General of Shanghai delivered opening remarks outlining the broader context of China–Pakistan cooperation and current areas of focus. In his remarks, H.E. Mr. Khalil Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, provided an overview of Pakistan’s investment landscape, highlighting Pakistan’s key structural advantages, including cost-competitive workforce, an increasingly stable and growth-oriented economic environment, as well as its strategic geographic location. The Ambassador further highlighted institutional facilitation mechanisms, including the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and its dedicated China Desk, which collectively contribute to an increasingly supportive environment for foreign investment.

The Ambassador also invited participants to attend upcoming investment events, including China–Pakistan B2B Investment Conference on home appliances, electrical equipment, and battery energy storage, scheduled to be held in Lahore in early May, as well as a China–Pakistan ICT B2B Investment Conference to be held in Hangzhou later the same month, which will be attended by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

During the roundtable, Sunway Law introduced its integrated service model, which provides a comprehensive, one-stop support for cross-border enterprises by bringing together legal, commercial, supply chain, industry resources, as well as investment capabilities to support cross-border projects, while together with its invited industry partner also explored on potential cooperation opportunities in the new energy two-wheeler sector.
